It is a Ground Cover, that is, a very vigorous shrub with long drooping branches and small double flowers in clusters, without perfume. It was created in 1985 by Rosen Tantau, one of the oldest German breeding families in business since 1906.
In 1985, a new prize was introduced for the first time at the Monza Trials, the one for Urban Landscape. Garden Services managers in various Italian cities had felt the need to have varieties capable of blooming in city flower beds, despite the smog and concrete, also requiring little maintenance and few pesticide treatments. The Municipality of Milan had promoted this initiative by giving away a specific prize for this type of rose. The first winner was a red rose from an Italian amateur breeder, Ferdinando Motta, but unfortunately it is no longer present in the rose garden. The rose was dedicated to the lady hostess of that year's competitions, the singer Celeste. The search for roses for street decoration has continued to expand and many obtainers have had excellent results.
